NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Police found two people dead at a North Nashville home Saturday in what investigators said was an apparent murder-suicide.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), officers were sent to the 4000 block of Cato Road just before 2 a.m. on Saturday, June 29 after receiving reports that a man had assaulted a woman and pointed a gun at her.

Then, police said they received a call from another individual around 2 a.m. stating that a man had shot a woman and then himself.
Authorities reported a man and woman were both pronounced dead at the scene. MNPD identified them as 42-year-old Heather Nelson and 51-year-old Christopher Minchey.

Investigators said a preliminary investigation indicates that the couple had argued before the deadly shooting.
A witness reportedly told officers that Nelson walked to the end of the driveway, Minchey followed her, and then they heard gunshots and saw her fall forward first and then him after.
Homicide and Domestic Violence detectives reportedly responded to the scene to investigate and interview the witness.

According to officials, the police department had no prior involvement with the couple.
