Billete Cohete and developer Croxel Studios’ psychological horror Tormenture is now available on Steam. Tormenture merges today’s atmospheric psychological horror gameplay with a 1980s retro aesthetic that takes players on an unsettling adventure. Watch the new launch trailer below…
Tormenture places gamers in the role of an 80’s child who rents a video game that is rumoured to be cursed. As the child innocently plays the game, the dangers it contains begin to move out from beyond the screen and affect the child’s real surroundings. Players will have to solve challenging puzzles by interacting with items in the room, and dealing with the many pixelated horrors that appear to escape the confines of the old CRT television.
Players will get to experience how the game connects the digital world with the physical by introducing game mechanics that will be very familiar to us more veteran gamers, such as blowing on game cartridges (it did work, honest) and taking notes while searching for clues
Features of Tormenture include:
- Retro style aesthetics combined with modern gameplay.
- Challenging puzzles and riddles to solve.
- 1980s themed Easter eggs to discover throughout the story.
- Multiple endings based on the decisions made.
Tormenture is available on Steam for PC now.
