Conor McGregor will be back in the octagon in the near future.

The fighting icon confirmed to DAZN boxing that he would return to the ring in 2025 and that he still has hopes of fighting Michael Chandler, who is next set to face Charles Oliveira in November.

“It will be 2025,” McGregor said. “My job is just to go to the gym, be in the gym, stay in shape, and be sure that whenever it is, wherever it is, I will be ready.”

Beyond that commitment, McGregor said he doesn’t know what his future holds.

“I don’t even know,” McGregor said. “I am the highest generating fighter on planet earth right now in today’s space, what happens after this as a free agent, I am not sure.”

McGregor has not fought since he broke his leg during a fight with Dustin Poirier in 2021. He was expected to fight Chandler in June but he had to drop out due to a broken pinky toe.

McGregor has an all-time record of 22-6-0.
