Ana de Armas Stars in ‘From the World of John Wick: Ballerina’ Trailer

“How do I start doing what you do?” Lionsgate has revealed the first official trailer for the next John Wick movie that’s not actually a John Wick movie though it actually is because he’s sort of in it. This action spin-off is called Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas as a ballerina-assassin named Eve. The full title of the movie is now From the World of John Wick: Ballerina and it’s currently set to hit theaters everywhere in June 2025 next summer. Ana de Armas’ character is a ballerina getting revenge hunting the murderers of her family. According to co-star Ian McShane, the character is under the protection of Winston & Charon in the New York Continental Hotel during most of the movie. The same character was previously portrayed by Unity Phelan in 2019’s John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and this takes place before Chapter 4. The superb supporting cast includes Anjelica Huston, Keanu Reeves, Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, and Ian McShane. With an appearance by Lance Reddick filmed before he passed away. This looks especially cheesy but also does look like it’s going to kick ass. Check this out below.

Taking place around the same time as the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, the movie follows Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas) who is beginning her training in the assassin traditions of the “Ruska Roma”. From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, formerly known as simply Ballerina, is directed by the American action filmmaker Len Wiseman, director of the films Underworld, Underworld: Evolution, Live Free or Die Hard, and Total Recall previously, plus TV episodes of “Lucifer”, “Sleepy Hollow”, “APB”, “The Gifted”, “Swamp Thing” most recently. The screenplay is written by Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapter 3 & 4, Army of the Dead, Day Shift, Rebel Moon Part 1 & 2); based on characters created by Derek Kolstad.
