“We could create a whole new population to harvest…” Gravitas Ventures has unveiled an official trailer for an indie sci-fi thriller called The Fix, a unique dystopian creation from indie filmmaker Kelsey Egan as her third feature film. This premiered at a festival earlier this year and will be on VOD starting in November. A toxic compound infects earth’s atmosphere. Pharmaceutical giant, Aethera, sells immunity to those who can afford the daily dose… most can’t. In this climate change ravaged future with toxic air, a young model takes a new “party” drug causing a physical transformation making her into their next test subject. She freaks out and tries reversing it searching for a “fix” but learns that her mutations could actually save humanity. Huh – an interesting eco-thriller twist. I guess…? The film stars Grace Van Dien (daughter of actor Casper Van Dien), Clancy Brown, Daniel Sharman, Aidan Scott, Chris Fisher, Nicole Fortuin, Ryan Kruger, and Tafara Nyatsanza. Despite an interesting premise, this looks like a direct-to-video production. Enjoy.
Here’s the official trailer (+ posters) for Kelsey Egan’s sci-fi thriller The Fix, direct from YouTube:
A dystopian thrill ride with an environmental slant, The Fix explores identity, perception and autonomy in a frighteningly real future. A toxic compound infects earth’s atmosphere. Pharmaceutical giant Aethera sells immunity to those who can afford the daily dose… most can’t. When an image-conscious wild child takes a new designer drug at a house party, she becomes an unintended test subject. Pursued by a vicious gang and authorities in cahoots with Aethera, she hunts desperately for a “fix” that will reverse the drug’s effects… only to discover that her mutations could save the human race. The Fix is written and directed by stunt woman / writer / indie filmmaker Kelsey Egan, director of the films Glasshouse and I Carry You Always previously, plus many other shorts. It’s produced by Greig Buckle, Allison Friedman, David Lyons, Jeremy Walton, and Kelsey Egan. This initially premiered at the 2024 Chattanooga Film Festival earlier this year. Gravitas will debut Egan’s The Fix direct-to-VOD starting November 22nd, 2024 this fall. Curious?
