Man charged over horror truck crash on Bruce Highway that killed woman and teen

A 30-year-old truck driver has been charged with dangerous driving after a woman and a teenager were killed in a horror crash in Queensland’s Gladstone region.

Emergency services were called to the Bruce Highway at Raglan about 11pm yesterday.

Police will allege a semi-trailer failed to slow down when it ploughed into a Nissan Navara, forcing it into the back of a Toyota Hilux.

The two passengers in the Navara – a 40-year-old woman and 13-year-old boy – died at the scene.

Police said the driver of the truck, a 30-year-old man, has been charged with dangerous driving, causing death or grevious bodily harm. 

He is due to appear before Gladstone Magistrates Court on December 9. 

The driver and passenger in the Hilux sustained minor injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
