Netflix and BBC has ordered a second season of its mystery drama A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. Starring Wednesday‘s Emma Myers in the lead role of Pip, a young woman with a keen eye for investigation, the next season will cover the second book of Holly Jackson’s trilogy.
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder followed Pip Fitz-Amobi, a high school girl who chooses to investigate a seemingly closed-and-shut murder case of Andie Bell that rocked her town of Little Kilton. Teaming with the alleged killer’s younger brother, Pip sets out to prove his innocence and uncover the real circumstances around Andie’s disappearance and death.
In Good Girl, Bad Blood, Pip is initially determined to stay away from more investigations after solving the Andie Bell case. But as Max Hastings’ trial approaches, key witness Jamie Reynolds suddenly disappears and Pip finds herself in a race against time to find him.
Myers will reprise her role as Pip with Zain Iqbal returning as Ravi Singh. Series author Holly Jackson and Poppy Cogan will write the second season. The series concludes with the third book As Good as Dead with a prequel novella Killjoy, both of which Netflix and BBC hope to adapt in the future.
“I am beyond thrilled that we can continue Pip’s story and, this time, I’m writing on the show. We owe everything to the dedicated fans, and I can’t wait to reunite with my AGGGTM family,” Jackson said.
“I’m delighted to be back in Little Kilton with Pip and friends for season two, and to have the opportunity to bring another of Holly’s gripping stories to the screen,” said Cogan.
Season two will begin filming next year.
