Stellantis has announced plans to close its van factory in Luton, putting more than 1,100 jobs at risk as the company consolidates operations at its other UK factory at Ellesmere Port.
The Luton site currently makes vans for the Vauxhall, Peugeot, Citroën and Opel brands.
The company said on Tuesday it aimed to relocate “hundreds of jobs” from Luton to Ellesmere Port in Cheshire, where it already makes electric vans.
