Matthew McConaughey & Timothée Chalamet Have An Interstellar Reunion 10 Years Later: “My Movie Dad”

Interstellar actors Matthew McConaughey and Timothée Chalamet reunited at a college football game ten years after the movie released in theaters. Interstellar is a critically-acclaimed science fiction film directed by Christopher Nolan, and follows McConaughey’s Cooper, a former astronaut, who sets out on a mission to find a habitable planet for humankind to move to. To do so, Cooper must leave his daughter and son, played by Chalamet, behind. In addition to McConaughey and Chalamet, the cast of Interstellar includes Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Mackenzie Foy, John Lithgow, and Michael Caine.

Ten years after the release of Interstellar, Timothée Chalamet posted a photo of himself and McConaughey watching a college football game on Instagram. In the caption of the photo, Chalamet wrote, “my movie dad Cooper.” In the photo, both McConaughey and Chalamet have their backs turned to the camera and are watching the football game side-by-side. The Story Of Interstellar Focuses A Lot On Family

Interstellar was one of Chalamet’s first major movies in Hollywood, so he had a very minor role in the movie. The story of Interstellar was more focused on Cooper’s relationship with his daughter, Murphy, but his bond with his son was also important. Chalamet played Tom in Interstellar, and the adult version of the character was played by Casey Affleck. Tom ended up tending to the farm after Cooper leaves Earth, but unfortunately passes away before Cooper reunites with his family at the end of Interstellar.

McConaughey is one of the most well-known actors in Hollywood, and Chalamet has also gone on to have a very successful career after starring in Interstellar. Chalamet has starred in movies such as Call Me By Your Name, Bones and All, and Wonka. Additionally, Chalamet has continued to make an impact within the science fiction genre, as he has played the leading role of Paul Atreides in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune films. It has been great to see Chalamet’s rise in Hollywood following his role in Interstellar.
