Liverpool have made an opening contract offer to Mohamed Salah.
As reported by The Athletic, an agreement with Salah hasn’t yet been reached but talks are ongoing over a new deal, with the winger’s contract set to expire at the end of the season.
It is expected that it could take some time for Liverpool to reach an agreement with Salah regarding his future.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, who are also in the final year of their deals, have also received proposals.
Salah, who has been at Liverpool since 2017, has again emphasised his importance to the club this season by scoring 13 goals and providing eight assists in 14 Premier League appearances.
The Egypt international had expressed concern last month about not having received a contract offer from the club.
However, Liverpool are now taking steps to try and ensure that the 32-year-old remains at the club.
