A collection of Tom Brady items sold for more than $9million on Tuesday night at auction, with one item in particular going under the hammer for a staggering $1million.
The group of 41 items, titled ‘The GOAT Collection: Watches & Treasures from Tom Brady’, sold for $9,004,800million total according to cllct, with a mix of game-worn gear and jewelry outpacing Sotheby’s pre-auction estimates.
And while the helmet from his final game as a New England Patriot and the jersey he wore for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers while breaking the all-time passing record were highlights of the night, the highest-seller was a Rolex Daytona Paul Newman ‘John Player Special.’
The rare 14k yellow gold wristwatch crafted around 1969 by the ultra luxury Swiss watch house was estimated to go under the hammer from $600,000 to $900,000.
But the highly sought-after Daytona model, which was worn by Brady during a special ceremony at Gillette Stadium where the New England Patriots honored the legendary quarterback at the start of the 2023 football season, smashed all expectations, being sold for a staggering $1.1million.
The price for Brady’s wristband from ‘The Comeback’ game, which had been estimated to go for $120,000- $180,000, was driven up to $204,000.

Possibly the most famed comeback in sports history, the New England Patriots’ stunning surge saw Brady lead his team from a 28-3 deficit with little more than a quarter remaining against the Atlanta Falcons during Super Bowl LI on February 5, 2017.
Meanwhile, four bidders battled for a piece of Brady’s career pre-NFL. His Michigan ‘Final College’ game-worn jersey achieved $792,000 over the course of a five-minute tussle at the auction house.
Brady’s final game at the University of Michigan remains one of the most memorable performances of his college career. The 2000 FedEx Orange Bowl featured Brady’s Michigan Wolverines against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the first Orange Bowl ever to reach overtime and witnessed the signal caller dazzle with 369 passing yards and four touchdowns in the thrilling 35-34 victory.
Another crown jewel in the collection was a white gold and diamond-set flying tourbillon Royal Oak by Audemars Piguet, which sold for $720,000 to an online bidder.
Encased in white gold with a baguette diamond-set bezel, the unique piece was crafted for the GOAT himself, featuring his name in block capitals and the number seven in Roman numerals – symbolizing his seven Super Bowl victories – in baguette cut diamonds in place of the standard indices. A custom rotor bearing Brady’s signature is visible through the sapphire crystal case back.
The hexagonal-bezel sports watch – the only known Audemars Piguet featuring a custom name on the dial – was worn by Brady during his Netflix special, ‘The Roast of Tom Brady.’
Some of the more outside-the-box memorabilia included a wristband worn during Super Bowl LI, in which Brady led the Patriots to a legendary comeback against the Falcons after being down 28-3, which sold for $204,000.
The sale had kicked off with his 2019 New England Patriots game-worn helmet, which quickly soared to $102,000 after a three-way bidding battle.

The iconic helmet was worn during his 20th year in the NFL, where Brady continued to shine throwing for 4,057 yards, marking the 11th time in his career surpassing the 4,000-yard milestone, along with 24 touchdowns.
Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers jersey, worn during the game in which he broke the NFL’s all-time passing yardage record, sold for $504,000.
But perhaps the most off-beat item was the Dunkin’ Donuts track suit worn by Brady during a 2024 Super Bowl commercial. Signed by actors Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, the suit sold for $50,400.
800 people registered to participate in the auction, with 60 percent of lots sold for prices in excess of their high estimates.
‘We felt this was a fair representation of his overall collection,’ says Richard Lopez, a senior watch specialist at Sotheby’s, who says that he worked with Brady to select objects for the sale. ‘He was willing to part with these so someone else can collect and enjoy them the way he has.’
Brady had heavily promoted the auction via social media, and came to Sotheby’s headquarters in advance of the sale to meet with a small group of potential bidders.
