State Highway 8 is closed after a serious crash.
The single vehicle crash on the Manuka Gorge Highway near Burma Road was reported just after 6pm.
One person has been seriously injured.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area and expect delays.
The Serious Crash Unit is in attendance, a police spokesperson said.
