In only a few short years, Renate Reinsve has become one of the most accomplished and beloved actors in the world. In nearly every film she’s in, she is the breakout star. And perhaps this is best shown in her newest work, “Armand.”

As seen in the trailer for “Armand,” the film follows the story of an actress who is called into an emergency parent-teacher meeting regarding her child. The film stars Renate Reinsve, Ellen Dorrit Petersen, and Endre Hellesvtveit. “Armand” is written and directed by Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel. This marks Tøndel’s directorial debut. It won the Camera d’Or at last year’s Cannes.

We watched the film when it debuted at last year’s Cannes Film Festival, and in our review, we said, “Considering the entire film takes place in the confines of the school building, it’s a testament to Tøndel’s direction and Reinsve’s enthralling performance that the film avoids feeling claustrophobic.” We further complimented Reinsve’s performance and said, “She’s so good you simply want to see her in everything. Just wow.”

Here’s the synopsis:
When defamed actress Elisabeth (Renate Reinsve) is abruptly called into a parent-teacher meeting after hours, she is presented with scathing allegations that trigger a tangled web of accusations between parents and faculty. As Elisabeth struggles to uncover the truth amid the empty school rooms and dark corridors, a chaotic fight for redemption arises where desire, madness and obsession prevail.
