Slovakia’s Tamara Potocka collapses after 200-meter IM

Swimmer Tamara Potocka collapsed at poolside Friday morning after a qualifying heat of the women’s 200-meter individual medley at the Paris Olympics.

Medical staff rushed to assist Potocka, from Slovakia, and carried her away from the poolside on a stretcher. Potocka was seen with an oxygen mask.

The venue’s media manager said Potocka was conscious and under medical assessment. Other details of her condition were not immediately known.

Potocka, 21, had finished seventh in the third heat of the event in the morning session at La Defense Arena.
