The Golden State Warriors’ failed pursuit of a trade for Utah Jazz star forward Lauri Markkanen could actually turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

Per ESPN’s Kendra Andrews, sources said that the Warriors didn’t “want to be involved in any ‘bad deals’ that would force them to give up pieces they were unsure of letting go of in exchange for a player they wanted. In negotiations with Utah, sources added that “what the Jazz were asking for in return for Markkanen fell under the ‘bad deal’ category, and the talks stalled.”
