ALDI shoppers are going wild over a new dessert that has just landed in the freezer section of their local stores.
The supermarket giant is now selling four-packs of Portuguese tarts for a limited time only.
And while the popular treat can retail for as much as $8 each at cafes and patisseries, ALDI is selling the new packs for just $4.99 — which equates to just $1.25 per individual tart.

The frozen tarts, which can be cooked in your air fryer or oven, are already a favourite product for ALDI fans.
“These were delicious — a hit in our household,” one customer said on the Aldi Mums Facebook page.
“Just cooked ours last night and was told by those who eat these regularly that they were amazing,” someone else commented.
Another person agreed but added a caution: “It’s sooo delicious. There’s a risk of burning your mouth though as they’re so hot out of the air fryer.”
And yet another fan worried they were almost too good, saying: “Whoever suggested the Portuguese tarts — thank you so much … NOT! So bloody delicious! Good thing they’re a limited item.”
“Let’s not share how good they are as we won’t be able to buy them because they sell out,” someone else responded.
Many people called on ALDI to keep the limited-edition dessert in stores as a permanent buy.
“These are incredible — please keep them,” one person said.
“Where’s the petition to make this a permanent buy? Because I’m signing it!” someone else agreed.
