At the end of “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” it really did feel like a bit of closure. Sure, not everything was perfect. In fact, things were pretty crappy for Peter Parker. But it seemed as if it was a perfect end point for this chapter in the hero’s life. So, what’s to come with “Spider-Man 4?” Well, we finally get a bit of a tease from Amy Pascal.

Speaking as part of Deadline’s “Behind the Lens” podcast, Amy Pascal was asked about the future of the “Spider-Man” franchise. She explained that the fourth film is being worked on now, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. She also confirmed that Tom Holland is returning as the title character. But Pascal also teased what we can expect with the story.

“We have to deal with the fact that he decided he was going to give up being Peter Parker and he was gonna focus on being Spider-Man because being Peter Parker was too hard,” said Pascal. “So that’s what the movie is about.”

You may remember that the resolution of ‘No Way Home’ included Peter Parker deciding that the world should forget who he was. This meant his love, MJ, wouldn’t know who he was. And none of his friends would know anything about him either. It’s a blank slate. So, it seems as if the film will tackle that story head on.
“Spider-Man 4” is expected to begin filming next year and be ready for its July 24, 2026 release date.
