The Beef is starting to cook, with season two of the award-winning Netflix series beginning to take shape.
Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton, and Cailee Spaeny will head the cast for the second installment from creator Lee Sung Jin. Supporting Actress Oscar winner Youn Yuh-jung (Minari) has also signed on to the cast. The casting of Isaac and Mulligan came as no surprise as the pair were negotiating to star in season two during the summer. Details on these roles have yet to be confirmed.
Season two will center on a young couple that “witnesses an alarming fight between their boss and his wife, triggering chess moves of favors and coercion in the elitist world of a country club and its Korean billionaire owner.” This second installment in this anthology will have eight 30-minute episodes, down from last season’s ten episodes.
Jin will again serve as showrunner on Beef, executive producing with Steven Yeun, Ali Wong, and Jake Schreier. A24 produces the series.
