“You need to find him!” “He ran as soon as he could.” Magnet Releasing has debuted the official US trailer for a French action thriller film titled Night Call, which will be opening in January in limited US theaters. This premiered at the 2024 Biarritz Film Festival – Nouvelles Vagues, and it already opened in theaters in France a few months ago. This night is like all the others for Mady, student by day, locksmith by night. But Claire, the enigmatic young girl he helps out that night, is not who she claims to be. Mady has only one night to prove his innocence in a city in turmoil. Newcomer Jonathan Feltre stars as Mady Bala at the center of the film, with a cast including Natacha Krief, Jonas Bloquet, and Romain Duris. The film is set over the course of a tumultuous night amid a Black Lives Matter protest in Belgium – it was filmed in Brussels & Molenbeek-Saint-Jean. This looks badass, tons of action and intensity as he runs around the city. Fire it up.

One evening, Mady – a young student by day, locksmith by night– receives an emergency call from Claire to open a lock. But the door the young woman wants to open isn’t hers, and the bag she runs away with isn’t hers either. It belongs to Yannick, a vicious mobster who blames Mady and will stop at nothing to retrieve his stolen goods. Mady has only one night to prove his innocence and save his neck. What started out as an ordinary night shift turns into a brutal descent into violence. Night Call is a no-holds-barred crime thriller that ambitiously combines genres, from film noir to action-packed survival. Night Call, also known as La nuit se traîne in French, is directed by the Belgian filmmaker Michiel Blanchart, making his feature directorial debut after many other short films previously. The screenplay is also written by Michiel Blanchart, in collaboration with writer Gilles Marchand. Produced by Nicolas Duval Adassovsky, Michaël Goldberg, Margaux Marciano, and Boris Van Gils. The film first opened in France in August already. Magnet Releasing will debut Blanchart’s Night Call in select US theaters starting January 17th, 2025 coming up.
