Beyoncé is set to perform during halftime of the Ravens-Texans game as part of NFL Christmas Gameday live on Netflix.
The singer will perform in her hometown of Houston, and the performance will take place during the second of Netflix’s two games, as the Houston Texans host the Baltimore Ravens at NRG Stadium at 4:30 PM ET, Dec. 25.
Beyoncé’s official Instagram revealed the news along with a short clip of the star catching a ball while standing atop a flower covered car. The performance will be available to all 283 million Netflix subscribers worldwide.
Beyoncé’s performance will be produced by her company, Parkwood Entertainment and Jesse Collins Entertainment, and it will be the first live performance of songs from her critically acclaimed, country-infused album Cowboy Carter. No further details on the performance have been revealed, but it is expected that there will be special guests on stage with the multiple Grammy winner.
The news of Beyoncé performing is some good news for Netflix after the streamer took a mauling from users over the weekend following a series of technical problems that dogged the Jake Paul – Mike Tyson fight, and many have questioned Netflix’s ability to stream live events at scale.
As part of a groundbreaking deal that was revealed in May, Netflix signed on to stream the NFL’s two new Christmas Day games, which the league decided to carve out from its schedule earlier this year. Netflix will stream the games this year, instantly giving it access to the biggest live sports rights in the U.S. The two games on tap will be the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Baltimore Ravens vs. the Houston Texans.
Netflix also has at least one NFL Christmas Day game in 2025 and 2026, in what both parties hope will become a new holiday tradition.
