The remaster of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter got a new trailer on Monday. LucasArts’ 2002 action-adventure game stars Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett on the trail of a rogue Dark Jedi. Aspyr Media is responsible for the remaster, which releases for PC, Switch, Xbox One, Series X/S, PS4, and PS5 on August 1.
What was in the Star Wars: Bounty Hunter trailer?
The recent Star Wars: Bounty Hunter remaster’s launch trailer offers a good overview for anyone who didn’t have a chance to play it on PS2 or GameCube. The third-person action game sees Jango Fett hunting Count Dooku’s rogue apprentice, Komari Vosa, who leads the Bando Gora crime syndicate. A prequel to Attack of the Clones, which was released the same year, the game takes place shortly after 1999’s Phantom Menace.
The new Star Wars: Bounty Hunter trailer also previews its game’s mechanics. Jango Fett has access to a variety of weapons, including his iconic dual blasters, flamethrower, missile launcher, and more. Meanwhile, the Mandalorian’s jetpack lets players access otherwise inaccessible areas. However, they will need to keep an eye on the fuel gage.

One of the more unique mechanics from the trailer is the ability to scan NPCs in first-person to look for outstanding bounties. Players then have the choice of killing them or taking them alive with Jango Fett’s whipcord thrower.
Aspyr Media doesn’t have a perfect track record with remastering old Star Wars games. The studio’s Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection suffered from “critical issues” at launch. There were also credible allegations that the game contained modded content without crediting the author. Hopefully, the Star Wars: Bounty Hunter remaster doesn’t face the same problems.
