New details about The Night Agent Season 2 are ramping up anticipation for the next installment in the hit Netflix action series. The first photos reveal a new character, played by Brittany Snow, who sat down with creator Shawn Ryan to preview all the “night action” we can expect in Season 2.
Season 1 of The Night Agent ended with protagonist Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) transitioning from an FBI greenhorn to a full “night agent” after unraveling a conspiracy in the U.S government and ultimately saving the president. In Season 2, Peter is off to Bangkok where his instruction in intrigue continues as he chases a CIA agent who is selling classified information.

Makes a nice change from all the cancellations.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, which exclusively premiered photos from Season 2, Ryan and Snow laid out what we can expect from the next chapter.
“Like season 1, this season starts off simple and then grows more complicated and intertwined as the episodes progress,” showrunner Shawn Ryan told EW. “Classified information and the people who steal it, sell it, and use it connects all our various storylines.”
In Thailand, Peter has a new mentor, Alice, played by Brittany Snow (Pitch Perfect). “Alice is Peter’s point of contact and superior in Thailand,” Snow told EW. “She’s a very skilled agent and someone who is very used to living the lifestyle of solitude.”
Not only is Alice teaching Peter “how to be a night agent,” Ryan added, she’s also teaching him “how to compartmentalize your life to protect the civilians you care about, like Rose in his case.”
Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan) is a tech CEO who Peter strives to protect in Season 1 of The Night Agent. With Rose absent in Thailand, EW speculated on Alice as a new romantic interest for Peter in Season 2, which Ryan teased as well. “All I can say is Peter and Alice get along very well and have great chemistry — during and out of their missions,” the showrunner said.
But he also added that Rose will return. “Peter’s current life is very much a mystery [to Rose in Season 2], but a troubling phone call will convince Rose that Peter is in danger and needs her help. We’ll see Rose’s unique set of skills utilized as she attempts to locate Peter and make sure he’s okay.”
Brittany Snow Steps Into a New Role in ‘The Night Agent’
Along with being “a huge fan” of The Night Agent, Brittany Snow was intrigued at the prospect of playing a covert operative, which opened up a new type of role for the Pitch Perfect star. “The gun training was reason enough for me to try it,” she said. “Not many people think of me being an undercover agent.”
Snow is joined by other The Night Agent Season 2 newcomers, including Amanda Warren (The Leftovers), who plays the chief of the night agent recruitment outfit. Berto Colon (Orange is the New Black), Louis Herthum (Westworld), Arienne Mandi (NCIS), and Teddy Sears (Raising the Bar) also join the Season 2 cast.
The Night Agent Season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix on January 23, 2025.
