Browns Wideout Jerry Jeudy Trolls Broncos Fans During Career Night in Denver Return on ‘MNF’

Dealt out of Denver to Cleveland in March in exchange for the Browns’ 2024 fifth- and sixth-round picks, 2020 first-rounder Jerry Jeudy was labeled a “bust” by many Broncos pundits and it seemed that his departure was almost a foregone conclusion following an up-and-down four seasons in the Rockies.

In his return to Empower Field at Mile High for “Monday Night Football,” Jeudy got his revenge on Denver.

With the Browns teetering on being blown out in the third quarter after a Bo Nix bomb to Marvin Mims helped Denver extend the lead to 28-17, Jeudy snagged a pass from Jameis Winston and took it 70 yards to the house for a touchdown, stopping on the goal line for a bit of (non-penalized) taunting along the way.

Then, for good measure, the 25-year-old caught a two-point conversion to close the score to 25-28. Afterward, the taunting from Jeudy towards his former fans continued on the field as well as on the bench.

Jeudy, who has more than 200 receiving yards on eight catches to go with his pair of scoring plays as of this writing, said he was going to be a man on a mission in his return to Denver prior to making his return.

Specifically, Jeudy said he wanted to “whip their ass” when facing the Broncos.

“You know you always wanna beat the opposing team that you used to play for,” Jeudy said about facing his former team. “That’s just the competitive nature of us athletes…I ain’t circle [this game], but I definitely seen it was on the schedule. Was very excited about it. And now it’s here. It’s time to perform.”

In the bright lights of “MNF,” Jeudy certainly has. It’s a wonder why the Broncos weren’t able to see he’d be able to after spending a top-20 pick on him. Jeudy has similar thoughts.

“I feel like I wasn’t getting that many opportunities to showcase my talent with all these different OCs and different schemes and stuff like that. So I couldn’t really show my abilities and show my route-running skills. It just wasn’t a fit for me,” Jeudy told ESPN’s Daniel Oyefusi. “t just wasn’t working over there. I felt like I was a way better player than they used me as. I wanted to go somewhere that would use me, see my full potential and take advantage of it.”

Win or lose on Monday night, Jeudy’s potential has been on full display.
