Warning: SPOILERS for Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 2Chozen Toguchi (Yuji Okumoto) found a new love interest in Cobra Kai season 6, part 2, but his uncle, Sato Toguchi (Danny Kamekona), would have hated it. Sato and Chozen were both introduced in The Karate Kid Part II as enemies of Mr. Miyagi (Noriyuki “Pat” Morita) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio). However, both Sato and Chozen were redeemed. The elder Toguchi mended his ways at the end of The Karate Kid Part II, while Chozen emerged as a new man and a friend to Daniel-san in Cobra Kai season 3.
Cobra Kai season 6, part 1 ended with Chozen returning to Okinawa to win the heart of Kumiko (Tamlyn Tomita). But Chozen was crestfallen when it seemed Kumiko found a lover, so he joined Daniel and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) at the Sekai Taikai tournament in Barcelona, Spain. Chozen and Cobra Kai sensei Kim Da-Eun (Alicia Hannah-Kim) were both shocked by their mutual attraction when searching the city for their students. Kim and Chozen hooked up, and if Sato were alive, he would not approve of his nephew’s love match.
Sato Would Hate Chozen’s Cobra Kai Romance With Master Kim Da-Eun
Master Kim Sun-Yung and Sato Toguchi Were Enemies
There’s little chance Sato would be in favor of Chozen and Kim Da-Eun becoming Cobra Kai’s newest strange bedfellows. Cobra Kai season 6, part 1 revealed that Sato Toguchi and Da-Eun’s grandfather, Master Kim Sun-Yung (C.S. Lee), were enemies. Sato and Kim encountered each other when they trained American soldiers in their opposing styles of karate in the middle of the 20th century. Neither would be happy with their family members getting into a relationship.

Sato passed away before the events of Cobra Kai, but if he were alive, he would quite likely be against his nephew, Chozen, dating the granddaughter of Master Kim Sun-Yung. If Master Kim learns about Da-Eun and Chozen in Cobra Kai season 6, part 3, it’s hard to imagine he wouldn’t forbid it. Master Kim developed the violent form of Tang Soo Do that became the basis for Cobra Kai karate, while Sato was a Miyagi-Do sensei. They would consider Da-Eun and Chozen as incompatible as their styles of karate.
Sato & Master Kim Sun-Yung Wouldn’t Become Friends Like Mr. Miyagi Did
Miyagi & Sato Buried The Hatchet In The Karate Kid Part II
With Sato Toguchi deceased, there is no chance he and Master Kim Sun-Yung can put their differences aside like Sato and Mr. Miyagi did. However, Sato underwent a profound change of heart, and he and Miyagi were once again thick as thieves at the end of The Karate Kid Part II.

But if he were still alive, Sato would not allow it, and it would be the one thing he and Master Kim Sun-Yung would agree on.
