San Antonio Spurs point guard Chris Paul became the third player in NBA history to amass 12,000 or more career assists on Friday during his team’s home game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Paul, who entered Friday with 11,997 assists, only needed 3:34 of game time to hit the 12K mark. The 20-year NBA veteran got there after finding Victor Wembanyama for an alley-oop dunk to give the Spurs an early 13-4 lead.
Paul joined assist leader John Stockton (15,806 career dimes) and current Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd (12,091) on the list.
