Commanders suspend VP after calling team’s players ‘homophobic’ and ‘dumb’

The Washington Commanders have suspended a vice president in their organization for derogatory comments he allegedly made in a video released Wednesday while being surreptitiously recorded on a date.

An undercover woman working for James O’Keefe’s media company went on multiple Hinge dates with Commanders VP of content Rael Enteen and recorded him allegedly saying that NFL players are homophobic, fans are alcoholic mouth-breathers and that the league’s social justice initiatives are insincere.

“The language used in the video runs counter to our values at the Commanders organization. We have suspended the employee pending an internal investigation and will reserve further comment at this time,” a Commanders spokesperson told The Post in a statement.

In the video, Enteen was asked by his date about the composition of the team.

“Over 50 percent of our roster is either white religious — ‘and God says f–k the gays’ — another big chunk is very low income African-American that comes from a community that is inherently very homophobic,” Enteen says.

The undercover date asked Enteen if most people who work in the NFL are “just not very smart.”

“There’s obviously a spectrum. I’ve met some very, very smart people in the NFL,” Enteen said.

Then he was asked about the players.

“There’s some that are like dumb as all hell,” Enteen said.

According to his LinkedIn page, Enteen has been with the Commanders for four years and previously worked on the Jets’ social team.

In a part of the conversation where the previous context was cut off, Enteen said, “Most of the fans, I would say, are high-school-educated alcoholics … There’s fights in the stands all the time.”

The date followed up and asked if they were “like lower class people.”

“I hate to use that term. I would just say mouth-breathers,” Enteen said, laughing.

Explaining his role with the organization, Enteen said, “My job is to sell hope to the fans, right? I need them buying tickets. When there’s not much hope to sell I still have to dig deep to find it.”

The date followed up and asked why there’s not much hope to sell right now.

“Because we had like pipes leaking sewage on our fans in the middle of the game,” Enteen said.

“And I have to put out a social post saying like, ‘It wasn’t sewage water. We promise.’ That is state-run media.”

Asked about NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, Enteen said, “Oh yeah, he’s a puppet. A $50 million puppet.”

The date asked Enteen to explain the NFL’s social justice messaging.

“It’s performative,” Enteen said.

“It’s not done out of the goodness of their heart and morality. It’s done because George Floyd changed the game. I mean that the social justice efforts are a performance for the sake of public perception and not because they want to actually push progress.”

Enteen said that it wasn’t to garner support of liberals, but to “get as much money as possible.”

“I think the NFL cares about the bottom line like any corporation, above all else,” Enteen said.

“They don’t really need to pinch pennies because they have so much revenue. Therefore, they can faux-prioritize DEI for the sake of good publicity.”
