Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy let the red mist descend during their game against the Atlanta Falcons after smashing a tablet on the sidelines in frustration.
Early in the second quarter at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, McCarthy and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer dialed up an end-around to wide receiver CeeDee Lamb on 4th-and-1 inside Atlanta’s 45-yard line.
Yet much to the Cowboys HC’s dismay, the play proved a disaster when Lamb was tackled and dragged behind the line of scrimmage for a loss of three.
McCarthy could initially be seen throwing his right arm out in disbelief after the Falcons got the ball right back on downs.

And when he eventually watched the play back, his Microsoft tablet bore the brunt of his fury.
Replays captured McCarthy slamming the tablet to the ground in anger after his offense’s failure, which appears to have set the tone for a miserable Cowboys performance in Atlanta.
At the start of the third quarter the visitors attempted a fake punt at 4th-and-2, only for the Falcons to come very close to intercepting it as they failed to pick up the first down.
In their first possession after that failed fake punt attempt, the Cowboys then lined up with 12 players in the huddle on 4th-and-1, forcing them to punt and lose possession once more.
It has been a disappointing start to the season for Dallas, who are 3-4 after losing their last two games.
Defeat against Atlanta on Sunday afternoon would leave their record at 3-5 and pile even more pressure on McCarthy.
The 60-year-old is in his fifth season with the team after joining back in 2020, failing to make it past the Divisional Round in his four previous campaigns.
