What’s Inside The Lorcana D23 Collection?

The Lorcana D23 collection includes six cards, five of which are alternate art variants of pre-exisiting cards. Each of these comes from one of the five Lorcana sets that have come out since the game’s release. Uniquely, the character art on each extends all the way to the borders of the card, displaying more of the surrounding scene and making for an overall brighter, more colorful display piece. Each card also includes the D23 logo near the bottom of the image, representing its status as a promo card. Other than their rarity, art, and collectibility, these cards don’t differ at all from their original counterparts in an actual play setting.

The sixth and final card, Oswald – The Lucky Rabbit, is a preview of one of the cards that’ll appear in the as-yet unnamed November 2024 set. This is also the first time Oswald the Rabbit, one of the earliest Disney characters, and a prototype of Mickey Mouse. A Storyborn hero card, Oswald appears to have an ability called “Favorable Chance.” This allows the player to reveal the top card of their deck whenever they put a card into their inkwell – if that top card is an item card, they can play it for free, although it enters the game already exerted. If it’s not, they’ll have to return the card to the bottom of their deck.

The following table lists every card contained in the Lorcana D23 collection, along with the set from which they come. It also includes some basic information on the cards’ classifications, which, in Lorcana, is divided into Storyborn, Dreamborn, and Floodborn, along with some qualifiers that describe their roles in the stories they originate in.

Besides the exclusive and sought-after collection, the Ravensburger booth at the D23Expo will also have several other products on offer, both Lorcana-related and completely distinct. First, there’s the brand-new Shimmering Skies set, available in hobby stores worldwide on August 9 (which is also the first day of D23). Attendees may also find two of Ravensburger’s Disney-themed tabletop games at the booth: Chronicles of Light: Darkness Falls (Disney Edition), and Disney Villainous: Intro to Evil.

Finally, there are two free promo items also available at the D23 Ravensburger booth, while supplies last. The first is a special edition Mickey Mouse – Playful Sorcerer card, and the second is a Mickey Mouse pin to celebrate the first anniversary of Lorcana‘s initial release.

That’s everything to expect from Lorcana at this year’s D23. With its first five sets out, a sixth on the way, and a first anniversary approaching, the TCG has plenty to celebrate this summer. Players who visit the Ravensburger booth at D23 can look forward to the premier collection, a preview of the next set, and, if they’re lucky, a couple of Lorcana freebies. But remember, the D23 collection will also be available at retail stores for those who can’t make it to Anaheim for the Expo. Either way, the D23 collection is the perfect celebration of the card game’s history to date, and will make a wonderful collectible for Disney Lorcana fans.
