Anaheim Ducks centre Trevor Zegras is expected to return to the ice Tuesday against the Florida Panthers after recovering from surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.
The 23-year-old was injured during Anaheim’s 4-1 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Dec. 11.
After taking a faceoff in Anaheim’s defensive zone during the second period, Zegras spun and fell awkwardly when he briefly got his stick blades and skates tangled with Golden Knights’ William Karlsson.
Zegras immediately waved to Anaheim’s bench and needed help getting off the ice.
He has four goals and 10 points in 24 games this season.
Zegras was selected ninth overall by the Ducks in the 2019 draft. He has 59 goals and 164 points in 235 career games over the past five seasons in Anaheim.
The Ducks (18-22-6) are seventh in the Pacific Division and look to snap a three-game losing streak when they host the defending Stanley Cup champions.
Watch the game live on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT.
