‘DWTS’ winner Bobby Bones hits back at Julianne Hough’s diss

Bobby Bones responded to Julianne Hough saying he shouldn’t have won Season 27 of “Dancing With the Stars” because he’s “not the best dancer.”

The radio host hit back at the “DWTS” co-host’s remarks in a video shared on Instagram Monday, saying, “I was the worst dancer. I take pride in that.

“Now I tried as hard as anybody in the history of the show but I can’t dance now [and] couldn’t dance then.”

“But you know who took down the big evil empire of dance — well it’s not evil or an empire — but me and you,” Bones continued, referring to the viewers who voted for him and partner Sharna Burgess in 2018.

“We did it together. I’m the greatest champion ever. I didn’t say I was the greatest dancer but the greatest champion ever because I’m the man of the people. I’m the man that you guys selected.”

The “Bobby Bones Show” host, 44, noted that the “DWTS” producers changed the voting rules for the next season after his win.

“I’m a terrible dancer, I was a terrible dancer,” he reiterated. “But they changed the rules after I left because the fan vote was so good.”

The new rules allowed viewers to vote only when the show was live and prohibited fans from voting on the first episode of every season, per Newsweek.

Bones made it clear that there was no bad blood between himself and Hough, 36, as he referred to the professional dancer as “cool” and “awesome.”

However, the TV personality seemingly had a bone to pick with country singer Mickey Guyton, who agreed with Hough on “Watch What Happens Live” that Bones shouldn’t have won his season.

“Mickey Guyton, what the —,” Bones said in disgust. “Of all people.”

Hough and Guyton, 41, were asked who they thought shouldn’t have won the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy during Sunday’s episode of “WWHL.”

While Hough initially hesitated, she agreed with the “Make It Me” songstress’ choice of Bones.

“Oh, I actually agree with you!” the “Footloose” star responded. “And I think it’s because of the fanbase, right? It’s all about the fanbase on that show. He was not the best dancer, I agree.”

Bones controversially won Season 27 of the ABC competition series, despite receiving low scores from the judges each week.

During his season, Bones acknowledged his lack of dance skills, telling Good Housekeeping at the time that he understood the criticism from then-judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.

“I don’t think they want me to win, frankly. I think the judges want somebody who came in with more dance experience to win,” he told the outlet in November 2018.

“But that’s why the show isn’t just about the judges — it’s also about the people. I think the show hasn’t had a winner like me ever, and I don’t know what that means to them.”
