It’s been four years since the release of Drake Doremus’ most recent film. That’s the longest time without a film the director has experienced in his career. Typically, it takes only one or two years between projects. Well, the good news is that we know what he is working on next, “Next Life.”

According to Variety, Emilia Clarke, Edgar Ramirez, and Jack Farthing have all been cast in “Next Life,” the upcoming film from acclaimed director Drake Doremus. “Next Life” tells the story of Ivy (Clarke), a woman who finds herself confronted by parallel universes where she sees her life play out in very different ways. The film is also said to exist in the world of the modern jazz scene in London.

Doremus is known for his films “Douchebag,” “Like Crazy,” and “Newness.” His most recent film was 2020’s “Endings, Beginnings.”
Clarke is probably best known for her role in “Game of Thrones.” But since that ended, she’s appeared in films such as “Above Suspicion,” “Last Christmas,” and “The Pod Generation.” She’s also appeared in Marvel’s “Secret Invasion” TV series.

Ramirez has recently been seen in “Emilia Pérez,” which is a major player in this year’s awards season. He’s also recently shown up in films such as “Borderlands,” “The 355,” “Jungle Cruise,” and “Yes Day.” Farthing has been in films such as “Spencer,” “The Lost Daughter,” and “Official Secrets.” He’s next set to appear in “Islands.”
It’s unclear when we might see “Next Life” appear in theaters. Filming is already underway and is said to wrap up at the end of the month. So, it’s most likely that we’ll see the film show up sometime in 2025.
