Erling Haaland showed he is a man who does not forget as he blanked Marc Cucurella despite the Chelsea man asking for his help to stretch out a cramp.
Haaland also took a cheeky swipe at the Spanish international in a post-match interview with former Norwegian international Jan Aage Fjortoft.
Cucurella was at the centre of Spain’s Euro 2024 celebrations and sung a song that directly referenced Haaland, whose Norway did not qualify for the tournament.
‘Haaland you’d better tremble, Cucurella is coming,’ Cucurella and his teammates sang.
However, it was the Manchester City marksman who ultimately had the last laugh over Cucurella.
Cucurella asked Haaland to help him stretch his left leg as he suffered a cramp late in the game
However, Haaland kept on walking as Cucurella continued to writhe in agony on the turf
Some of Cucurella’s Chelsea teammates eventually came over to help him stretch his leg
Haaland managed to hold off the Chelsea defender en route to scoring City’s first goal of the afternoon at Stamford Bridge.
But it was a moment in the second half when Cucurella really could have done with his rival’s assistance.
The Spaniard dropped down to the turf and was wincing in pain having suffered cramp.
He then looked up to Haaland for assistance to help him stretch it out.
Instead, the Norwegian simply walked away as Cucurella’s teammates came over to help him.
Cucurella was then substituted not long after, with Renato Veiga coming on in his place.
Unfortunately for Cucurella, he had to make his way past City’s away supporters to get to Chelsea’s dugout.
The Spaniard was greeted by loud chants of ‘w****r’ as the City fans let their feelings be heard.
Cucurella was desperate for Haaland to help him with a cramp but he wasn’t having any of it

Cucurella referenced Haaland during his celebratory song after winning the Euros with Spain
Although City supporters were keen to stick the boot in, Haaland remained reluctant to do the same.
‘It was an interesting song, that, from that guy [Cucurella],’ Haaland told Viaplay after the match.
‘There’s not that much to say. I don’t really think about that. He can do what he wants.
‘Last year he asked me for my jersey, and then he starts singing about me.’
Although Haaland may have been reluctant to speak any more on Cucurella, he did take a swipe at Chelsea’s skipper, Enzo Fernandez.
The Argentinian lined up in Chelsea’s midfield but struggled to make a significant impact on the pitch.
Haaland took aim at Fernandez over his tough tackling, but also insinuated it wasn’t just the skipper who engaged in rough tactics.
Haaland was not a fan of Chelsea skipper Fernandez’s tough tackling in their season opener
‘All the time he [Fernandez] stamps on me, he pushes me and everything, not only him,’ Haaland told Match of the Day.
‘I don’t know what they want but that’s what they do I guess.’
