Shudder is undoubtedly the best horror streaming platform available since it is solely dedicated to bringing the best horror the industry has to offer. Founded in 2015, the video-on-demand streaming service offers a diverse selection of films, from vintage titles to the most recent originals and exclusives.
In October 2024, for example, Shudder released numerous highly entertaining horror films, including Azrael, The Exorcism, and MadS. The J-Horror Virus is a new horror documentary that explores the origins and evolution of Japanese horror films, including Ringu, Confessions, and The Grudge. The J-Horror Virus will be released on Shudder on Nov. 1.
Black Cab

Black Cab is a new horror thriller starring Nick Frost, who has been in several notable films, like Shaun of the Dead, Attack the Block, and Hot Fuzz. This time, though, he is playing the role of a psychotic cab driver who, after accepting a couple’s ride, takes them to a secluded and haunted road, where his true intentions become clear.

Rita, based on a true story, is a fantasy drama film written and directed by Jayro Bustamante (La Llorona, Tremors, and 1991). The film originally premiered at the Fantasia International Film Festival on July 25, 2024, and garnered positive reviews from top critics on Rotten Tomatoes, with the majority outlining its tragic impact on audiences. The official synopsis of Rita is described as follows:
Based on the true story behind one of Guatemala’s most harrowing tragedies, RITA shines a light on the brave orphans whose fight for survival inspired a nationwide outcry for justice and reform. While fleeing a neglectful household, thirteen-year-old Rita is placed in an oppressive state-run orphanage. Rita’s arrival provides a glimmer of hope to the girls inside, who share a prophecy that an angel will appear to release them. Encouraged by one another, the girls plan an escape to claim their freedom and expose the orphanage’s abuses of power.
Rita will be available for streaming on Shudder on Nov. 22, 2024.
Out Come the Wolves

Shudder has lately delved into survival horror, with films like Azrael, In A Violent Nature, and Boar delighting audiences the most. Out Come the Wolves is the streamer’s new venture into the beloved genre, starring Joris Jarky, Damon Runyan, and Missy Peregrym. It takes place in a cabin deep in the wilderness, where retired hunter Sophie takes her childhood best friend and fellow hunter, Kyle, to meet her fiancé, Nolan, and teach him a bit about hunting for a piece of news he has been researching.
