College football fans are reacting in horror after an assistant coach lost his mind on a player – and got in his face after making some sort of a mistake.
During a game between Marshall and Louisiana-Monroe (ULM), a ULM assistant coach was seen racing down the sidelines and screaming.
In a clip posted to X, formerly Twitter, by NBC 4 Columbus anchor Jerod Smalley the coach – which appears to be offensive line coach Cameron Blankenship – is seen running up and down the sideline before running out onto the field.
A coach wearing sunglasses, who appeared to be ULM head coach Bryan Vincent, appeared to be telling Blankenship to calm down.
But Blankenship couldn’t control his rage – as he was seen jumping up and down before ripping his coaching headset off and screaming at offensive lineman Drew Hutchinson.

As Hutchinson raced off the sidelines, Blankenship was seen racing after his player.
After making it off the field, Blankenship continued to run after Hutchinson – shoving the player and bumping his chest as he screamed in the lineman’s face.
In a statement to DailyMail.com, ULM Athletics said, ‘In Saturday’s game at Marshall, Assistant Coach Cameron Blankenship made physical contact with a ULM student-athlete on the sideline. This behavior is unacceptable and not how ULM football conducts business.
‘There will be disciplinary action taken against the assistant coach. Because this is a personnel matter, the discipline will be handled internally.’
Fans were outraged by Blankenship’s behavior and posted their disdain on X in the aftermath.
‘That is an adult man losing his mind because a college kid made a mistake. Never should a coach physically go after a player like that. Gross!,’ wrote one user on the social media platform.
Another wrote, ‘Unacceptable. Suspend that coach.’
‘That’s one way to make your team not respect you anymore,’ wrote another user.
‘He should be fired. It is not acceptable. He is lucky the player didn’t take him out. This coach is a small dude,’ read another post.

Louisiana-Monroe ended up losing the game on the road to Marshall 28-23 to fall to 5-3 on the season and 3-2 in the Sun Belt Conference.
ULM running back Ahmad Hardy rushed for 207 yards and a touchdown while neither team’s passing attack was particularly potent.
They’ll hope to bounce back next week when they take on Texas State.
