‘Flabbergasted’ NSW mum claims $2.5 million Lotto prize

A mother from NSW has claimed a mega $2.5 million Lotto win with a paper ticket bought from her local news agency.
The winner, from The Entrance on the state’s central coast, didn’t register her entry or make an online account and came forward after checking her winning ticket.

She took home a staggering $2,519,100.97 in the Saturday Lotto draw and told officials she was “flabbergasted” by the win.

How Australia’s lotto winners spent their cash

“I was speechless when I checked my ticket, and I still am,” she said.

“I’ve played regularly for years and years and you get used to checking your ticket and getting just a small win, so when I realised I had won division one, it was completely unexpected.”

The woman said she’s been carrying around the ticket like it’s “pure gold”.

She plans to use the winnings to help her kids, pay for Christmas presents and go on a lavish trip to Europe.

The winning ticket was purchased at The Entrance Newsagency.

Owner Blake Gavljak said it was the first time his store had sold a ticket with such a huge prize.

“Before the weekend, we had never been fortunate in the 10 years that we have owned the business to sell a division one winning entry!” he said.

“In the last 10 years, we have seen a lot of customers be one number off winning division one, but this is the first time we have had the opportunity to be a part of changing a customer’s life.”

Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4521 – one each in NSW and Western Australia.

The lucky WA punter also won $2.5 million from Mundaring Lotto and Gifts but still hasn’t come forward to claim the prize.
