A FORMER Neighbours star reveals that she’s expecting her first child with her partner that she calls her ‘stepbrother’.
Scarlet Vas, who played policeman Mishti Sharma in the soap, took to Instagram to share the happy news.
Scarlet, who left the soap in 2018 married singer Tayo Ricci last year in Mykonos, Greece.
The couple have known each other for many years and first met as teenagers when they were growing up in Melbourne.
Scarlet explained previously that their families knew each other before they met and that they introduced them to each other.
Then their parents started dating and the couple joked about being a family.
Scarlet has since attracted attention over occasionally referring to Tayo as her ‘stepbrother’.
In September the couple first posted a video of themselves finding out about their pregnancy and attending ultrasound appointments.
Tayo said on the post: “Baby Ricci. Our Christmas Miracle.”
Scarlet added: “Can’t wait to meet you.”
The video also showed Tayo lovingly kissing her baby bump.
The couple are social media influencers and collectively have a huge following of over 35 million followers on their accounts.
But their news has caused some negativity online and on their recent post which shows a pregnancy update.
One fan commented: “Are yous actually siblings.”
Another added: “Having a kid with your brother is wild.”
While a third remarked: “You guys are step siblings thats crazy and she’s pregnant and his the father bro you step siblings I know step but still”
Vas told Sky news that they don’t let the comments get to them: “Honestly, it doesn’t affect us because we have each other.”
She added that she doesn’t usually read the comment section but when she does, she has a laugh, finding the trolls very entertaining.
She stressed she and Tayo were definitely not blood-related but she preferred to keep the exact details of their family connection private.
Scarlet also has an Only Fans account which sometimes features Tayo and has previously declared that she earns up to $200,000 a month for her content.
