Mads Horror Film Trailer

“Contamination complete.” Shudder has unveiled an official trailer for an indie horror called MADS, also written as MadS. That title doesn’t tell you much (the Romanian title translates to Nightmare Night) but this is an intense, kinetic new horror thriller. It’s another one-long-take film, taking place with one shot that goes on non-stop through the entire 89 minute runtime. A teen goes to his dealers getting a wild new drug before a night of partying. When he picks up an injured woman on the way home, things take a bizarre and surreal turn. With Lewkowski Yovel, Laurie Pavy, Lucille Guillaume. The “choice to shoot this film in a single shot stems from the desire to make this hallucinatory journey as authentic as possible,” they state. “Every scene, every emotion, is experienced in real-time, with no possibility of escape – an unparalleled plunge into this altered state of consciousness. [It] becomes much more than a technical feat. It becomes the indispensable tool for anchoring the spectator in this ghost-train, where the bad trip becomes palpable, real, and overwhelming.” What a pitch! This is one hell of an intense and entertaining movie – check it out below.

Here’s the first official trailer for David Moreau’s horror film MadS, from Shudder’s YouTube (via io9):

After trying out a new drug, Romain goes out partying. On the way, he picks up an injured woman on the side of the road, who, when she gets into his car, panics and starts smashing her head until she dies. Thus begins a nightmarish night during which Romain will be unable to tell the difference between what is real and what are the effects of a drug as mysterious as it is powerful. Mads, also written as MADS or MadS, is written and directed by French indie genre filmmaker David Moreau, director of the films Them, The Eye, It Boy, Seuls, and King previously. Produced by Yohan Baiada and Marlene Wale. With cinematography by Philip Lozano. This initially premiered at Fantastic Fest 2024, and it screens at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain next. No other international release dates are confirmed yet. Shudder releases Moreau’s MadS horror film streaming on Shudder in the US starting on October 18th, 2024 coming soon this fall. Who’s down?
