Twisters stars Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos got to wet their whistles during a surprise appearance at a Luke Combs concert over the weekend.
The performers joined the country singer onstage at his show Friday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. As seen in footage shared to social media, Combs and the castmembers each had a can of beer and took part in a brief chugging contest.
Powell and Combs can be seen quickly shotgunning their beers and then tossing the empty cans toward the audience. Edgar-Jones did not appear to finish hers and instead handed the half-finished beverage to Powell, who polished it off and tossed that can to the crowd as well.
“So this happened,” Edgar-Jones wrote about footage from the appearance when sharing it to her Instagram Stories. She included an exploding head emoji and tagged Powell, Ramos and Combs. Ramos reposted her footage and added the message, “The most legendary moment.”
Combs recorded the original song “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma” for Twisters, which was released earlier this year as the first single from the Universal movie’s soundtrack. On Friday, Combs posted a carousel of photos to Instagram of himself and others watching Twisters from the jumbotron at MetLife.
“Movie night at @metlifestadium,” Combs captioned his post. “The whole team and I got to see the new @twistersmovie on the Jumbotron. Wow. What a night and what a flick.”
Director Lee Isaac Chung‘s film opened in theaters Friday and is off to a hot start. A follow-up to 1996’s Twister that starred Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt, Twisters is overperforming at the box office and is on track for a domestic opening of $74.6 million.
