Legendary mods are the newest addition to Fallout 76 and something that can allow you to take a regular weapon and turn it into a legendary one. This is done mostly through a process of scrapping and crafting, and players will want to use their new mods as soon as possible. It is also possible to craft these mods yourself once you have a recipe, which will also be covered here.
Weapons in Fallout 76 come in a large variety and have a lot of different effects. These effects are the main thing you’ll be focusing on when you’re also looking at legendary mods, as the mods give a new weapon the same effects. This will be something to keep in mind as you start your new journey through the game.
Finding & Crafting Legendary Mods In Fallout 76
Scrapping Old Weapons
The main way to find legendary mods is by scrapping the legendary armor and weapons that have the effects you want, as that is now allowed through the update. For example, you can scrap the Unstoppable Monster in order to get the Tier 1 Bloodied Mod. This now means you can add the Bloodied mod to any of your other weapons.
Additionally, you have a chance to get both the mod itself or the crafting plan for a mod when you scrap a legendary weapon/armor, so that you can then craft the mod itself over and over again without having to find a weapon to do so. This means whenever you find a new weapon you want it on, you can simply craft it yourself and not worry about the process as much. Reddit user Captain-Hooligan has put together a great resource with crafting recipes for all of the legendary mods.
You can also get some legendary gear by buying them with Scrip or by getting them through events in Fallout 76. However, one of the better ways to do so is to find the craftable legendaries, like the previously mentioned Unstoppable Monster, that you can craft over and over again so that you can scrap it often. Crafting Legendary Weapons With Mods
God Rolls On Everything
The main point of the new legendary mods is that you can now very specifically get the rolls you want on your legendary weapons. First, you will have to make your weapon legendary using the normal, everyday legendary module crafting part, which will put a random effect on your weapon with the Tier rating determined by what you choose. Once your weapon has been upgraded, you can then go in and change the mods like you normally would at the Tinker’s Workbench in Fallout 76 under “modify.”
You do not have to change the other effects on a weapon if you want to change just one. You can
select the one you want to change
and then select the new mod you want from the ones you have.
If you decide to then upgrade your weapon again to the next Tier, the original mod will stay even though the new one will be rolled randomly. You can only add mods that are at the level of your current Tier. This means you can make god-tier weapons with effects that you have a lot more control over. This means the sky is the limit, and you can spend all day modding your legendary weapons if you choose in Fallout 76.
