Kansas has kicked off its season on the right note, winning back-to-back games and looking every bit like the No. 1 team in the nation. However, their last game against North Carolina was tighter than expected with the Jayhawks edging out a 92-89 victory.
Guard Zeke Mayo has been impressive this season and put up 21 points, while Hunter Dickinson was a force down low, racking up a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Kansas will need both stars firing on all cylinders as they face a Spartan squad that’s also come out hot.
Meanwhile, Michigan State comes into tonight’s game with a 2-0 record as well and coming off a dominant 96-60 win over Niagara. Forward Jaxon Kohler shone with an impressive 20 points and 13 boards, a career-high that gives the Spartans some momentum going into this top-tier matchup.
With head coach Tom Izzo’s classic grit and grind approach, Michigan State is out to prove it can go toe-to-toe with the nation’s top team.
