The 2025 awards season is in full swing, and the Golden Globes are nearly here. The 2025 awards ceremony, hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser, will air live on CBS on Sunday, Jan. 5, at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET. The show will also stream live on Paramount+.
Variety and “Entertainment Tonight” have partnered for the second year in a row to produce the official digital red carpet pre-show for the Golden Globes, which will air live on Variety.com, CBS and Paramount+.
The digital pre-show will kick off at 3:30 p.m. PT on Variety’s digital and social platforms, ETOnline.com, ET’s YouTube Channel, ET’s streaming network, which can be viewed on Pluto, Paramount+, Samsung TV and more platforms and GoldenGlobes.com. The pre-show will also stream on Billboard, Rolling Stone and SheKnows, all owned by Penske Media Corp., which also owns the Golden Globes in a joint venture with Eldridge.
“Coming after a record-breaking year of viewership for our Variety video series, we are excited to again collaborate with the Golden Globes and ET on the official digital pre-show,” said Variety‘s Co-Editor-in-Chiefs Ramin Setoodeh and Cynthia Littleton. “Nobody covers the red carpet like Marc, Rachel and our team of talented reporters.”
The official pre-show will be hosted by Variety’s senior culture and events editor Marc Malkin and “Entertainment Tonight” correspondent Rachel Smith, with fashion coverage from Variety’s senior entertainment writer Angelique Jackson and senior entertainment and media writer Matt Donnelly.

Hosted at the Beverly Hilton, the 2025 Golden Globes will honor the top films and TV shows of 2024. This year, “Emilia Pérez” led the pack with 10 nominations, earning nods for best motion picture – musical or comedy, director, supporting actress for Zoe Saldaña and Selena Gomez, actress for Karla Sofia Gascón, screenplay, original score and more.
Brady Corbet’s A24 drama “The Brutalist” had seven nominations, including best motion picture – drama, best actor and actress for leads Adrien Brody and Felicity Jones, and supporting actor for Guy Pearce. Other high-scoring nominees include “Conclave” with six and “Anora,” “Challengers,” “A Real Pain” and “The Substance” tied with four.
On the television side, “The Bear” continued to dominate with five nominations (including best/musical comedy) while “Only Murders in the Building” and “Shogun” trail close behind with four nods a piece.
In addition to watching through traditional cable or Paramount+, you can also stream the 2025 Golden Globe Awards live, and for free through a live TV streamer such as DirecTV Stream, and Sling TV, which both offer free trials. CBS is also available on Hulu+ Live TV and Fubo TV.
Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner of White Cherry Entertainment will return as executive producers showrunners while Dick Clark Productions will plan, host and produce the event.
