Hundreds of thousands took to the streets of Berlin to march for Pride despite rainy conditions.

Massive crowds protested the discrimination of members of the LGBTQ+ community on Saturday – with a parade, colorful floats and costumes and lots of music.

The demonstration was part of “Christopher Street Day,” where people advocate for the rights of members of the LGBTQ+ community.

The motto for this year’s day is “Only strong together – for democracy and diversity.”

Organizers for the event say these words were chosen as the tone against the queer community in Germany is reportedly becoming harsher.

Famous German singer Herbert Grönemeyer sang as part of the demonstration.
