Horne-Francis is not carrying an injury specifically, but says 2024 was a bruising campaign.
“I’m definitely banged up; I think everyone’s pretty banged up — I was just fortunate I didn’t have to have any surgery. A few of the boys have,” he told 7NEWS Adelaide.
The 21-year-old is coming off his most consistent year yet, having played all but two games and finishing second in the best and fairest.
But he’s not resting on his laurels as he gears up for an even bigger 2025.
“We’ll head over with a few of the boys,” Horne-Francis said.
“We’re seeing someone to have a look at our bodies and make sure things are all moving alright.”
Horne-Francis and his Power teammates are trying to go at least one better after qualifying for the club’s third preliminary final under the reign of Ken Hinkley, who is yet to break through to the last Saturday in September.
They’ll have to do it without two-time All-Australian Dan Houston, though, who was this month granted his wish to be traded home to Victoria.
“To lose Dan is a big loss, but we got other assets in that we definitely needed and it was really exciting to get some new faces into the club,” Horne-Francis said.
Houston moved to Collingwood as part of a three-club mega trade on the final day of trade period.
The deal sent Houston to Collingwood, while Collingwood dasher John Noble headed to Gold Coast.
Port Adelaide received former No.2 draft pick Jack Lukosius from Gold Coast, Collingwood small forward Joe Richards and contracted Sun Rory Atkins.
Houston was one of the biggest names of this year’s trade period after telling Port Adelaide he wanted to head back to Victoria.
The 27-year-old had been courted by North Melbourne, Carlton and Collingwood, but the Pies moved into the box seat when Noble expressed interest in moving to the Suns.
Port also received picks No.13 and No.29 from the Suns, and No.36 from the Pies.
