Toronto Blue Jays prospect Yeuni Muñoz was stretchered off the field in a single-A contest between the Dunedin Blue Jays and the Clearwater Threshers on Saturday.
Muñoz appeared to suffer a serious injury during a slide into second base that resulted in a lengthy delay as trainers from both teams tended to the ailing outfielder on the field, according to MILB.com.
The contest was eventually called off with Dunedin leading by one in the bottom of the fifth inning. The team would later send an update on Muñoz via X, saying he is in stable condition and undergoing further evaluations at a local hospital.
Muñoz, a native of the Dominican Republic, has played 26 games in single-A this season.
