Jennifer Aniston shares heartfelt photos from Friends in memory of co-star Matthew Perry, who passed away a year ago at the age of 54. On Oct 28, 2023, Perry was found dead in a hot tub at his Pacific Palisades home. The Los Angeles County medical examiners determined that Perry died from the acute effects of ketamine. Since then, five people have been charged in connection with the Friends star’s death. Earlier this month, Dr. Mark Chavez pleaded guilty to supplying Perry with the substance.
Aniston shared four throwback photos on Instagram on the one-year anniversary of Perry’s death, including a picture of herself and Perry, a scene from Friends where Perry’s Chandler kissed Rachel on the forehead, a group huddle by the core cast of Friends, and a picture of Perry smiling. She tagged the official Instagram handle of the Matthew Perry Foundation in the post while writing, “1 year,” in the caption. The Matthew Perry Foundation continues Perry’s commitment to helping others who are struggling with addiction. Check out her post below:

Our Take on Aniston’s Pictures
He’s More Than His Struggles
Perry had a life-long struggle with substance abuse. He detailed his addiction issues starting from the age of 14, which he struggled greatly with while filming Friends. It caused his weight to fluctuate in between the 10 seasons of Friends. His journey wasn’t easy and was oftentimes rocky, but the actor showed strength throughout the years. He was an advocate for addiction recovery and was candid about his own struggles.
At the same time, the actor shouldn’t be only remembered for his struggle with substance abuse, but also for his kindness and warmth as a person. The photos Aniston shared captured the tenderness and humorous side of the beloved Friends actor. It showed her unconditional love and support both back then and now.
