Kaiju No. 8 is on a roll, and all eyes are looking towards its next big release. If you did not realize, the hit anime is gearing up for season two already. Following the show’s epic premiere in April 2024, Kaiju No. 8 has become a global hit thanks to Naoya Matsumoto’s clever tale. And now, we have been given a major update on the series courtesy of Jump Festa 2025.

The first poster for Kaiju No. 8 season two has gone live, and it brings a familiar face to the center stage. We can see Narumi Gen striking a pose with an intimidating weapon in hand. The promo confirms Kaiju No. 8 will premiere season two in July 2025, so fans can put that release window down on their calendar.

As you can see, Kaiju No. 8 is moving full speed towards season two. The anime promises to put Kafka Hibino in the driver’s seat once more, but of course, this life is a bit more complicated than it once was. At the start of season one, Kaiju No. 8 follows Kafka as he gains the ability to transform into a kaiju, and he ends up hiding his true identity from his coworkers who hunt the beasts now. But of course, the man’s identity did not stay quiet for too long.

The Anime’s Second Season Has Big Shoes to Fill

By the end of Kaiju No. 8 season one, fans watched as Kafka was taken into custody by the Defense Force after his alter ego was made public. In a bid to save his division from death, Kafka chose to sacrifice his anonymity, and it has left him in chains. Despite being up for disposal, Kafka’s tactical worth was proven after a difficult fight observed by the Defense Force’s strongest warrior. And in a post-credits scene, fans watched as Kaiju No. 9 talked with a clone of itself before gearing up for their next move.
