Kitten’s Unconventional Punishment for Playing With Foster Dad’s Dinner

A cat’s “punishment” for playing with freshly made pasta has melted hearts across the internet.

Lorena Bravo (@whoislorenabravo) shared an adorable video of her dad’s foster kitten pouncing at pasta dough prepared by her dad, captioned: “How Angel hair pasta is made.”

“How much trouble did dad’s foster get into for playing with the freshly made pasta?” an onscreen caption asked in the Instagram reel, which has garnered over 225,000 likes and 3.1 million views.

The video captures the tiny gray, white, and black tabby kitten called Solaris leaping up to play with fresh sheets of pasta dough hanging over the edge of the table.

However, the kitten’s “punishment” was far from harsh. Instead, the foster dad lovingly scooped the kitten into his sweater and kissed her forehead. “This much trouble!” Bravo humorously wrote over the heartwarming clip.

Fostering cats provides a temporary home for cats in need and is a rewarding way to help animals find their forever homes and alleviate the pressure on overcrowded shelters.

According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), 6.3 million pets enter U.S. shelters each year. Approximately 3.2 million of those animals are cats.

Angel hair pasta, known for its delicate, thin strands, is perfect for light sauces or primavera dishes. However, in this case, it seems to have gained an extra ingredient—the touch of a playful kitten.

Disciplining cats can be a delicate task, according to The Spruce Pets. Experts suggest that positive reinforcement and distraction are effective ways to discourage undesirable behavior. Punishments should be gentle, ensuring the cat feels safe and loved.

Solaris certainly felt safe and loved during her time in “cuddle prison.”

Instagram users couldn’t get enough of the kitten’s mischievous behavior. “He can’t reach, put it lower,” one user joked. “She’s sentenced to life in cuddle prison,” added Hannah Creque. Another viewer commented: “Got exactly what he deserved.”

One user shared a similar experience, saying: “This reminded me of that one time when I made lasagna pasta and left it on the table to dry, and then my cat thought it was a good idea to use it as a catwalk. Btw that lil buddy is so cute.”

Other comments included: “That angel hair might have some angel fur in it now,” and “Penalty snuggles.”

Newsweek reached out to Lorena Bravo for comment but could not verify the details of the case.
