LeBron James liked what he saw from Caitlin Clark after another record-setting performance on Friday.
The Los Angeles Lakers star hyped up the Indiana Fever rookie on social media after a dominant win against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky:
Clark had a career-high 31 points and added 12 assists and four rebounds in the 100-81 win. She was an efficient 8-of-14 from the field and 5-of-9 from deep and did it all in just 32 minutes.
With her passing numbers, Clark passed Ticha Penicheiro for the most games with 10 or more assists by a rookie in WNBA history with nine. She also became the first player in WNBA history to record 23-plus points and 12-plus assists in a single game.
Clark is putting up 18 points, 8.1 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game this season and has become the clear frontrunner for Rookie of the Year. A performance like Friday’s and a shoutout from James only helped her case.
Behind Clark’s tremendous rookie season, the Fever continue to get closer to their first playoff appearance since 2016. They improved to 16-16 with the win and jumped the Phoenix Mercury to take control of 6th place in the WNBA standings.
