‘Let’s keep going,’ says Riveiro as Pirates stroll to third successive MTN8 final

“It’s our third MTN8 final in a row, we managed to be in [two finals] of the SA cup (Nedbank) too, which is something we need to give a value that it really has because together here we’re playing a final every five months.

“It’s something that is not usually common, but that we’re getting used to. It’s nice but at the same time we have to understand it’s not always possible to find yourself in the final when you’re a big club like Orlando Pirates.

“So we need to enjoy these moments. The guys need to realise what they’re doing because they’re writing a fantastic chapter in the club’s history. They must be proud — fans, players, families, everybody. Let’s keep going.”

Riveiro will go to the international break happy and looking to continue with the good start to the season which includes making the second round of the Caf Champions League preliminary round where they’ll face Botswana side Jwaneng Galaxy away on September 13.

Pirates will open their league campaign at home against Chippa United on September 17.
