Typhoon Carina intensifies habagat; continues to bring more rain

In its latest cyclone update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that Carina was last spotted some 325 kilometers east northeast of Basco, Batanes.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), areas under the orange rainfall warning will receive between 15 millimeters (mm) and 30 mm of rain for the next two hours, while those under the yellow rainfall warning will experience between 7.5 mm and 15 mm.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 was raised over parts of Batanes as Typhoon Carina (International name: Gaemi) slightly intensified, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Tuesday.
In its 11:00 a.m. bulletin, Pagasa said Itbayat, Basco, Mahatao, Uyugan, and Ivana in Batanes are under Signal No. 2.
